At my offices we have been receiving many calls about the current flu virus. It appears that some strains of the flu have mutated away from the coverage that the current vaccine offers. Although the coverage from the flu vaccine may not provide 100% protection this year the 50% or 60% it does offer is still much better than no protection at all. Especially with winter just starting this Sunday I recommend patients who have not received their flu vaccination to get one soon.
